GEOGRAPHY OF KANJOOR

Edassery families are very ancient, aristocratic Roman Catholic families predominant in KANJOOR, which is a small village in Ernakulam district, in Kerala state, in south India. It is a peninsula surrounded by Periyar, the longest river in Kerala. Most of the villagers are agriculturists and small traders. Kanjoor is very famous for St. Sebastian’s Feast, being celebrated in the month of January 19th and 20th every year, in the famous church named St. Mary’s Forane church, Kanjoor. It is a festival of the people of all walks of life in this village, irrespective of their cast and creed.
